The Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of students’ education records.
SurveyMonkey is aware that Customers using SurveyMonkey Apply may collect student information that is considered confidential under FERPA.
SurveyMonkey maintains reasonable administrative, physical and technical standards to ensure that no unauthorized persons are able to gain access to any student information that may be considered confidential under FERPA. For example:
I. Data in different SurveyMonkey Apply sites is logically segregated on a per-client basis;
II. All user accounts have passwords and brute-force login protection;
III. SurveyMonkey staff accounts are removed as soon as staff members’ employment ends; and
IV. If any of your users contact SurveyMonkey’s support team, the request would be made via email and SurveyMonkey would not provide them with any information about their application materials – the user would be referred to a member of your staff if such a request was made.
